About the Author
Ruthi Davenport loves to spend time with her horses, and to be in the mountains near her home in northeast Oregon. She has been an elementary teacher, a professor in teacher education, and a researcher in reading assessment. She is founder of a Montessori-based preschool called Oak Haven, and she is a co-founder of Clover Haven, an equine center. She currently supports young learners in all school subjects, and teaches sewing, piano, and guitar.
